Acting Queer, Feeling Sensitive, besides being a kinetic sculpture, materialises in a book that highlights the visual and theoretical research which led to the conception and realisation of the project.
Conceived as an archive, the book traces the behind-the-scenes through different visual artefacts such as images, texts and material experiments. Reflecting the heterogeneous nature of the video aspect-ratios, the publication includes seven different formats in a single volume.
The visual assemblage represents a core essence also in the printed documentation, enabling the fusion between findings and experiments to create new narratives.

Mattia Friso is a visual artist working across photography, video, space, objects, and prints. Through interactive environments, his work explores the intersection of technology, perception, memory, and image-making, starting from a personal and queer lens. He uses a material-based, iterative research approach to uncover and question the societal norms embedded within systems of representation, particularly those shaped by technological apparatuses.
