Gender Posing is a video installation that explores analytically the perception of gender in relation to different body configurations. The video shows a photographic study of different poses performed by a silhouette-like body. The video installation provokes the spectator by making them embody the social gendering gaze.

Mattia Friso is a visual artist working across photography, video, space, objects, and prints. Through interactive environments, his work explores the intersection of technology, perception, memory, and image-making, starting from a personal and queer lens. He uses a material-based, iterative research approach to uncover and question the societal norms embedded within systems of representation, particularly those shaped by technological apparatuses.

Starting from objects and their histories, his work is grounded in still life, examining how systems of classification and collection shape the way nature and material culture are represented and preserved.
