Textile objects, video (1:31 min, 4:3)
How can I keep them without ever losing them?
How can I hold them without hurting them?
How can I feel them without touching them?
How can I see them without them being there?
In this project, I tried to explore the concept of trace, imprint. How can we keep the imprint of an object to which we somehow feel connected? How can we make it live forever? Using the ‘shibori’ technique, I recreated objects by impressing their shape on a piece of textile, molding them into silhouettes too fragile to be touched. The resulting structures are bodies of memory sewed through light, revealing the aura of the object.
