Multi-Channel spacial video installation (3:50 min), 3 16:9 monitors, 2 Channel audio, 2 projections on different materials
Scratching Matter, Queering Edges is a spatial video installation that explores the act of touching and its potential queer power.
The installation analyses the gesture of touching as an intimate act that transforms the surfaces involved, making them no longer the same after contact.
In the video, the atoms that make up the molecules of the hand merge with those of the portrayed building and its props, modifying the rigid architectural binarity, crumbling the sharp edges, making it become a mutable, fluid construction.
In Scratching Matter, Queering Edges, touch becomes a political that generates anti-narratives.
Inspired by the aesthetics of ASMR videos, the video installation proposes a new way of knowing and acting which doesn’t assign supreme agency to sight or speech.
